Cannatherapy

Editorial policy

Our pages explain the process, the law and the costs. They do not advertise medicines. These rules apply to every page on cannatherapy.ch.

What our pages are for

Our pages explain the process of a physician-led consultation, the legal situation in Switzerland and the costs of our practice. They do not advertise medicines. Whether treatment is an option is decided individually by the physician during the consultation, and there is no entitlement to a prescription.

Who writes and checks them

The pages are written by the Cannatherapy team. Every legal statement is checked against the official source before it is published, and each page shows the date of that check. Our physician Oxana Smagulova reviews the pages on the law and the process; once she has reviewed a page, the page says so.

Which sources we use

  • Federal law in its current version on Fedlex, with the article number in the text.
  • The Federal Office of Public Health (BAG) and Swissmedic.
  • Cantonal websites and the guidelines of the cantonal pharmacists' association (KAV).
  • For pharmacies, only the pharmacy's own website. Third-party lists and rankings are not a source.

What we never publish

  • Lists of illnesses or symptoms, and statements about the effects of a medicine.
  • Product names, strains, quantities or prices of medicines.
  • Rankings, ratings or recommendations of pharmacies, and stock or availability information.
  • Promises of a prescription, of reimbursement or of a particular outcome.
  • Patient testimonials and invented figures.

How we keep pages current

  • The pharmacy list is checked every six months; the next check is due in April 2027.
  • Legal pages are updated when a law or an ordinance changes, and canton pages when the cantonal office or the official page changes.
  • Every page states when it was last checked.

Independence

We have no contracts with pharmacies and receive nothing from them. Patients choose their pharmacy freely (Art. 26 HMG).

Corrections

If you find a mistake, or a pharmacy that should be listed, write to us through the contact page. We check every message against the official source and correct the page.

Our pages are general information, not legal advice, and they do not replace a medical consultation.

Take your time to decide. The free information call covers the process, the legal situation and the costs.
